Springfield Fire Co. to Host Tree Lighting Ceremony

Springfield Township will hold its First Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the 2nd Annual Christmas Wonderland and a Food Drive throughout December.

The Springfield Fire Company in conjunction with the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners will host the township’s First Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the 2nd Annual Christmas Wonderland and a Food Drive throughout December.

Sunday, Dec. 2: the township’s First Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. along the business district in the 100 block of Saxer Avenue. There will be a DJ playing Christmas songs, candy canes for the children and refreshments. There will also be a surprise visit from Santa Claus.

Dec. 1 through Dec. 15: The Springfield Fire Company will host a Food Drive to help families needing assistance during this holiday season. Canned goods, non-perishable goods, and donations can be dropped off at the Fire Station Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. The items will then be donated to the Springfield High School Holiday Food drive for distribution. Lets make sure everyone is able to have an enjoyable holiday season.

Saturday, Dec. 15: The Springfield Fire Company will host its 2nd Annual Christmas Wonderland. Please join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for FREE pictures with Santa Claus and enjoy refreshments and Christmas music. We look forward to seeing you at the firehouse.
