Blotter: Teens Charged After Loud Banging at Exxon

Under Armor Shirts Stolen From Macy’s

August 13: Security reported that two white males just fled the store without paying for a quantity of Under Armor shirts that they took from a display rack. The area was checked but the actors were gone. The shirts are valued in excess of $100.

Boy’s Bike Stolen Home on Saxer Avenue

August 13: A resident from the 700 block of Saxer Avenue reported that sometime over the last 24 hours someone stole his HERO boy’s bike from the rear yard of the home. The bike is valued at $350.

Teens Caught Trying to Break Open Air Compressor

August 14: While on patrol in the area of the Exxon Gas Station in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike Patrolman Andrew McKinney could hear a loud banging noise.

Patrolman McKinney checked the area and observed two youths attempting to forcibly enter the coin operated air compressor in the lot of the station. The youths were stopped and found to be in possession of numerous hand tools. There was fresh damage to the machine and the lock cylinder had been removed.

The actors, a 14-year-old juvenile from Morton and a 17-year-old juvenile from Morton, were taken into custody and transported to the . They will be Petitioned To Juvenile Court in Media and charged with Criminal Attempt,  Theft By Unlawful Taking, Criminal Mischief, and Curfew Violations. They were both released to relatives. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the  investigation.

Parked Vehicle Hit, Man Charged With DUI

August 14: Springfield Police were dispatched to the Unit block of N. Rolling Road for a reported traffic accident. Patrolman Andrew McKinney arrived to find that a vehicle had struck a vehicle parked in front of a home. There were no injuries reported. The investigation showed that the operator a 34-year-old Drexel Hill man was under the influence of a suspected controlled substance. Numerous empty prescription bottles for narcotics were located in the vehicle when it was searched. The actor was taken to , had blood drawn, and was then transported to the .
He was later released to a relative. Detective James Devaney is handling the investigation.
