Traffic Incident Leads to Gunfire, Police Say

It happened at a major Springfield intersection.

Springfield Police are investigating an overnight traffic incident that led to gunfire at the intersection of State and Springfield roads last Wednesday morning.

A Drexel Hill resident told Springfield police that sometime around 3 a.m., he was involved in an unspecified "traffic incident" at the intersection.

According to a police blotter report:

"During the course of the incident the operator of the other vehicle exited his vehicle and fired a single gunshot that struck the rear tail gate of his pickup truck"

No injuries were reported. Police say the victim was unable to get a good description of the shooter or the vehicle.
