Underage Drinking Party Busted, Woman Charged with Serving Minors

A Powell Road resident is charged with multiple infractions. One juvenile allegedly resisted arrest and faces charges in juvenile court. Two officers were mildly injured in the early-morning scuffle.

Springfield police received a report of a loud party in the 400 block of Powell Road on May 20 at 2:28 a.m. Sgt. David Welsh and other officers responded and the investigation showed an underage drinking party was being held at a home and some youths were also in the backyard.

Youths from Springfield, Upper Darby and Folsom were taken into custody and transported to the Springfield police station.

During investigation, a 17-year-old juvenile from Springfield resisted arrest and was eventually subdued. He will be petitioned to juvenile court in Media and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and other related charges.

Homeowner Kimberly Dorner, 45, of the 400 block of Powell Road, was taken into custody and charged with corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

All of the youths were issued citations for underage drinking and released to relatives. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Two officers suffered minor injuries during the scuffle.
