Woman Resists Arrest, Kicks Officer, Police Say

A Philadelphia women resisted arrest after a car accident, going as far as to kick a police officer, according to a release from the Springfield Police Department.

According to a release from the department, Springfield Police were dispatched to S. State Road and Meetinghouse Lane on May 14 for a reported traffic accident. Police reportedly arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Further investigation showed that one of the drivers, a 28-year-old Philadelphia woman, was intoxicated, police say.

Reports say the woman resisted being taken into custody by police, going as far as to kick an officer in the struggle. She was eventually subdued and taken into custody, police say. The woman was transferred to the Springfield Police Station, where she refused to have blood drawn and continued to resist and threaten officers, according to reports.

Police say the woman is charged with, among other things, driving under the influence, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and harassment.
