Avoid a Traffic Ticket: No Left Turn to Springhaven Road from Baltimore Pike

Effective immediately, motorists traveling west on Baltimore Pike are no longer permitted to make a left to Springhaven Road.

Effective immediately, motorists traveling west on Baltimore Pike are no longer permitted to make a left to Springhaven Road, 3rd Ward Commissioner Lee Janiczek, announced at the Aug. 9 board meeting.

“This change is because of concern for safety problems with traffic heading east,” he said. “This affects the 3rd Ward and all of Springfield.”

A no left turn sign has been placed by westbound Baltimore Pike lanes outside the Verizon building across from Springhaven Road. A double yellow line in the middle of the street, at the left turn lane for Thomson Avenue, indicates inability to cross over to make a left onto Springhaven Road.
