County Council Launches Monthly E-Newsletter

Residents can now subscribe to a monthly electronic newsletter with information on county services.

During its meeting Wednesday, Delaware County Council announced the launch of a new monthly electronic newsletter to help residents stay informed on county topics while being environmentally-friendly.

A county press release states that the newsletter is part of an effort to enhance communication with residents. Subscribers to the electronic newsletter will have the most-current information on county services delivered via email monthly.

"The e-newsletter is a cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly way for County Council to share news and press releases on topics that range from public health initiatives and recycling to veterans affairs and library programs. It will also alert residents to upcoming county events such as flu clinics, job fairs and senior expos," the release states.

“Delaware County Council is committed to keeping our residents informed about county government, how it affects their lives and how their tax dollars are put to work,” said Council Chairman Tom McGarrigle. “This e-newsletter enables us to add that to the methods we already use, including our website, weekly public meetings, the news media and our government access TV program. We intend for this e-newsletter to be a cost-efficient means of updating people on the role that county government plays in their lives.”

Council invites residents to sign up to receive the electronic newsletter, which will be emailed to subscribers on a monthly basis. Residents are also invited to forward the newsletter to colleagues and friends in an effort to expand Council’s communications with the community.

Chairman McGarrigle invites people to visit the county website.

“We want our residents to use the website as their guide to county government services. The website is your starting point to connect with various departments from Parks and Recreation to Services for the Aging.”

He also noted that communication is a two-way street and invites residents to stay connected. People are invited to send comments to County Council or the County webmaster.
