Springfield campaign contributions are down in 2012

 

Springfield campaign contributions are slightly less than the average zip code, according to OpenSecrets.org, with $35,719 in contributions as of July 9, 2012.

The national average zip code contributes $38,212.

Springfield's contributions at the end of 2010 totaled $131,345.

Republicans have received 86 percent of contributions this year. 

The contributions are based on Federal Election Commission data available electronically on July 9, 2012.
