Two Post Offices Close; One Opens

What do you think of the new location?

The has closed two post offices in Springfield and opened a new one.

The closed at the end of the day Thursday, Aug. 4 and the location closed at the end of the day Friday, Aug. 5. The new office, in the , between and , opened the morning of Saturday, Aug. 6.

A USPS employee, who wished to remain anonymous, told Patch that the new location is a bit busier than when there were two offices.

“I miss the old Brookside one, because it was closer to me,” resident Maria Woodruff of Colonial Park Drive told Patch.

Another patron waiting in line said he liked the new office for its convenient location on Baltimore Pike and its available parking.

Springfield Patch will update its directory to reflect these changes.
