Where's A New Springfield Stop Sign Headed?

T-intersection to sport new signage.

If a proposed ordinance gets enacted in February, one neighborhood will sport a new stop sign in the near future.

The Springfield Township Board of Commissioners approved on first reading legislation to create a new stop sign at the Laurel Street and Sara Road intersection.

Located in a residential neighborhood, the intersection's flow logical suggests motorists stop on the terminating Laurel Road before turning onto Sara Drive. However, no stop sign currently instructs drivers to do so.

The ordinance calls for the sign to be placed "facing southwest bound traffic on Laurel Road."

The commissioners next meet Feb. 12, where the bill will be voted on for final approval.
