4th Grader Named Student of the Month

The following is a pree release from Springfield School District.

The Springfield School District December Student of the Month is Jaylen Bullard, a fourth grade student at Sabold Elementary School. Jaylen is a friendly, helpful and dedicated student who has been at Sabold since entering kindergarten. He is one of five children who has fun playing and hanging out with his siblings. Jaylen thinks Sabold is great and enjoys coming to school each day.

Jaylen really enjoys his math and science classes. He enjoys being challenged by the experiments in science and he likes solving problems in math. About Sabold Jaylen said, “It’s a kind and friendly place, I feel lucky to go to school here." He really enjoys the special activities and field trips at Sabold too. Last year’s trip to Ellis Island was awesome and this year the trip to the Wetlands Institute to learn about sea life was great.  When Jaylen is not in school he enjoys playing sports, especially football. In fact, when Jaylen was asked wants he wants to be when he grows up, he responded, “A professional football player – After playing at Florida State University.”  Jaylen’s backup plan is to be a business man like his dad.

The staff at Sabold were quick to share why they think Jaylen is so special. His physical education teacher Mike Lupoli said, “Jaylen displays all the qualities that I want my students to strive for. He plays very hard and can be very competitive, but always shows good character. Displaying excellent sportsmanship, while being so driven and playing so hard, is not an easy thing to do.” Jaylen’s homeroom teacher Katie O’Neill added, “Jaylen is a friendly, generous, enthusiastic and hardworking student. He is a friend to all and a true leader in the classroom. He leads by example every day through his outstanding efforts and his kindness to others.”  Principal Cindy Mattei concluded by saying, “Jaylen is a very conscientious student and an outstanding citizen in our Sabold community. You can count on Jaylen to always do the right thing both in and out of the classroom. We expect great things from Jaylen in the future.”  For all these reasons and many more, we are proud to announce that Jaylen Bullard is the Springfield School District December Student of the Month.
