Seventh-Grader Named Student of the Month

Springfield's Jordyn Pace is named the district's student of the month.

The following is a press release from the Springfield School District.

The Springfield School District February Student of the Month is Jordyn Pace, a seventh grade student at E. T. Richardson Middle School. Jordyn is a mature, dedicated and helpful student who always strives to do her best and be friends with everyone she encounters. Jordyn sets a good example for her two younger brothers in fifth and second grade. Together they care for their dwarf hamster named Marshmallow.

Jordyn likes all her classes at ETR, but right now she likes her art course the best. “I love working with clay to create things” she said. She is really looking forward to the seventh grade PEEC experience; the overnight camping trip to the Poconos that has been a rite of passage for generations of middle school students. When Jordyn was asked what she wants to do when she grows up she hesitated and said, “A teacher and coach like my mom.” While she is not certain of her future career choice, she is certain that she will attend Loyola College where both her parents attended and graduated. When she is not busy being a stellar student, Jordyn is active participating in soccer, basketball, gymnastics and her favorite sport, lacrosse. She also enjoys reading biographies about athletes, prompted by her interest in the London Olympics.

The faculty at ETR were quick to share why they think Jordyn is so special. Katie Feigenbaum, seventh grade social studies teacher said, “Jordyn is such a positive role model for her classmates.  She works hard but has a great time doing it.  She has a positive attitude and is friendly toward her classmates and teachers.” Ellen Eckman, her math teacher added. “Jordyn is an upbeat, attentive, and active participant in all activities and discussions in class. She has a strong desire to do well in school and does what's necessary to make that a reality. It's a pleasure having her in class." Dan Tracy, ETR Principal, concluded by saying, “Jordyn is a fantastic example of the incredible students we have at ETR.  She is involved in the activities including the orchestra and athletics and always does her best to succeed academically. We are so proud of Jordyn and the example she sets as a student leader.” For all these reasons and many more, please celebrate Jordyn Pace as the Springfield School District February Student of the Month.
