Marching Band Finishes 2nd in State

The Springfield School District marching band finished second in the state competition at Hershey last weekend.

The following is a press release from the Springfield School District.

The Springfield High School Marching Band finished their season in amazing “Cougar” style. Competing in the Cavalcade of Bands State Championships in Hershey, PA the band placed 2nd  in the Yankee A Division.  The students truly gave their all in the final performance of the season and their score of 89.85 is quite an accomplishment in just a few short years of competition.

On the way home the students were met by a fire truck who led them to the school with sirens blaring and lights flashing, where they were then welcomed by a rousing group of family, friends, and supporters.   The students dedication, team work, and commitment this season was outstanding and they certainly deserve this wonderful recognition. Congratulations to the marching band on a on a job well done, a very successful season and representing the school and community in such a positive and powerful way.
