School Board to Vote on Tax Collector's Salary

The Springfield School Board will vote on whether or not to increase the tax collector's salary starting in 2013.

The Springfield School District Board of Supervisors will meet on Thursday.  Here’s a quick rundown of some of the items on the agenda.

  •  The school board will vote to “pay the bills” for November and December.  This item is controversial in anyway, but for two months, it costs over $1.9 million to run a school district.
  • The school board will vote to approve both the Tax Collectors’ Reports as well as the District’s Financial Reports for November and December.
  • The board will also vote on raising the tax collector’s compensation for both Springfield and Morton.  The Springfield tax collector will make $26,538 in 2014 and $28,232 by 2017.  In Morton the tax collector will make $6,657 in 2014 and $7,082 by 2017.
