School Board Reorganizes for 2012

Keith Black is elected board president for 2012.

The had their reorganization meeting Thursday, Dec. 1, where they elected their officers for 2012. Keith Black was elected president, Christopher DeSantis elected as vice president and Dominic Bentivegna is Secretary.

They were sworn in by The Honorable George Pagano of the Court of Common Pleas and a 1969 Springfield High alumnus, along with board members-elect: Frank Agovino, Donald Cadge and Geraldine Sullivan.

The school district solicitor, Mark A. Sereni, was appointed for another one-year term at an annual retainer of $5,500. His non-retainer services rates are: Out-of-Court Rate, $140 per hour; In-Court Rate, $165 per hour; and Legal Assistant Rate, $70 per hour. Sereni has been solicitor for Springfield School District since 1991.

The reorganization meeting was held prior to their regular monthly board meeting. Committee appointments will be announced in January 2012.
