New Fitness Studio Helps to Find Peace...through Strength

New fitness studio offers unique opportunities, especially to area women and families.

Developing strength (in any area) can lead to a wonderful sense of peace. Strength in body; strength of knowledge or mindfulness; strength of character and spirit. All lend themselves to a more peaceful existence.

Peace thru Strength exists to help clients find their peace....through strength. Peace thru Strength has been in existence for seven months and has been based primarily in local parks and clients' homes. I am really excited about the journey that I have been on and am even more excited about where we are about to go!

The Training Room by Peace thru Strength will celebrate it's official opening the week of July 30 to Aug. 4. The location is conveniently located at Victoria Mills across from the Springfield Mall, with easy access to Baltimore Pike.

My business is a unique one. I have spent many years working in the fitness industry and have been frustrated by the emphasis that is on making money and not on making a difference. I have also always felt that there is a lack of programming available to groups that really need the guidance and wellness assistance/supervision at an affordable rate, by coaches that care.

I have worked hard to create a business that focuses on wellness from a behavior modification standpoint. I work with a wide demographic, but tend to focus on women. I offer one-on-one services, but have had great success with groups.

I offer a group called Girls in Gloves for girls ages 13 to 18 that are struggling with self-esteem/confidence issues. We work on balance and healthy ways to handle stress through boxing workouts and discussion. I run a group for moms that allows them to bring their children (strollers are fine) and "reclaim their bodies" while meeting other area moms. A women's group meets twice a week to offer middle to older aged women a chance to focus on themselves, create healthy lifestyles, and meet others that can offer support and friendship. I have a group that is just for trauma survivors. This is a diverse group that consists of people that have been through a life-changing experience (sexual abuse, physical abuse, a serious illness, death of a loved one, etc.) that offers them a supportive and safe place while providing a physical outlet for their emotions. It helps to increase balance and identify healthy ways to handle stress and pain. I offer wellness coaching for all ages to encourage healthy change while providing support and accountability. I also have great success with my Fit Kids Boot Camps.

I get many clients by referrals from previous clients, but also get calls from individuals referred by physicians, mental health professionals, or school staff. I have set rates, but offer a sliding scale so that EVERYONE is able to get the services that they need.

I work with the general public as well, offering a unique opportunity through small group training. Individuals can get the feel and results of one-on-one training while paying a fraction of the price. The benefits of working with a group are great...offering healthy competition, accountability and encouragement. I offer nutrition/wellness workshops throughout the year.

I am looking forward to the opening of our new indoor space and am excited about the unique opportunities my services provide. The new space will allow me a private and convenient location to meet with individuals and groups, as well as a large climate controlled area for large group activities (like boot camp, Fit Kids Boot Camp and Moms on the Move).

Free demo sessions will be held all week so that everyone can come check it out and see what we are all about. Special pricing will be offered on packages and sessions during this week as well. September will bring the start of a new schedule and programs, along with a grand opening party and open house.

Stay tuned for updates and photos of our first week. Please don't hesitate to call or email for more information or to reserve a spot for a free demo session.
