Delco SPCA Accepts Donations in Hit-And-Run Victim's Name

Rick Patterson, of Lansdowne, and his dog, Baby, were killed in a hit-and-run in Upper Darby on Jan. 4.

The family of a hit-and-run victim is encouraging the public to donate to the Delaware County SPCA.

Rick Patterson, of Lansdowne, and his dog, Baby, were killed in a hit-and-run in Upper Darby on Jan. 4. Patterson adopted Baby, a poodle, from the Delco SPCA in 2008, according the SPCA Facebook page

Ernest Marks, who was driving on a suspended license at the time, was arrested and charged in the fatal hit-and-run, according to NBCPhiladelphia.com.

In Patterson's memory, his family is encouraging donations to the lifesaving Delaware County SPCA so that Patterson and Baby can be honored through a Kennel Sponsorship, which includes a plaque with their names on one of the dog kennels and funds the homeless dogs the SPCA saves for an entire year.

If you'd like to donate in Patterson and Baby's memory, you may do so through PayPal at http://delcospca.org/donations/ or mail donations to:
