State Police Sobriety Checkpoints Result in 17 DUI Arrests

The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks increased Delaware County enforcement on two separate weekends resulting in several arrests and citations.

The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks increased enforcement on two separate weekends throughout Delaware County resulting in several arrests and citations. Over the Easter holiday weekend, between April 6 and April 8, State Police increased enforcement resulting in the following arrests, citations or investigations. A separate sobriety check point on April 13 resulted in the following arrests and citations:

The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks conducted roving DUI patrols last weekend. The Delaware County-wide patrols ran from 11 p.m. on March 2 to 4 a.m. on March 3, according to State Police. The roving DUI operations resulted in the following arrests and citations.

Police Blotter: Burglars Steal Electronics; Juvenile Busted for Rock-Throwing

A Havertown resident reported Jan. 26 at 7:40 a.m. that her vehicle was damaged by a rock that was thrown by a youth who was waiting at the school bus stop on Church Road at Maple Street.

Converter Box Stolen The Radio Shack store in the 100 block of Baltimore Pike reported Jan. 24 at 11:46 a.m. that a male just left the store without paying for a convertor box that he took from a display. The male inquired about the convertor and the clerk believed that the actor had put it back, but the clerk later found the box empty. The area was checked but the actor was gone. The item is valued more than $75. Designer Eyewear Lifted The Pearle Vision store in the Springfield Mall reported Jan. 24 that sometime between 11:30 a.m. and around noon someone stole a pair of Burberry…

Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. DUI Charge After Accident On Aug. 15 at 2:45 a.m., Springfield Police received a report of a traffic accident at W. Springfield and N. State roads. Patrolman Daniel Boyd arrived to find a single vehicle had struck a light standard. No one was injured in the accident. Further investigation showed that the operator, Naavah Wood, 21, of the 1100 block of Taylor Drive in Folcroft, was intoxicated. Unruly Vandal Crashes Into Cop’s Car

Patrolman Kingsbury suffered a minor injury to his hand but did not require medical attention.

On July 31 at 11:13 a.m. Springfield Police received a report that a female was damaging the inside of the Sprint PCS Store in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike. Patrolman Michael Kingsbury arrived and employees pointed to a female attempting to flee the lot in a vehicle. Patrolman Kingsbury attempted to stop the vehicle but she drove her vehicle into the police vehicle. The officer was eventually able to stop the vehicle and subdue the actor, Asha Alexander, 22, of the 2700 block of Madison Street in Chester. Nursing Home Help Arrested for Stealing from Tenants

The following information was supplied by the Springfield police department. Arrests or charges do not indicate a conviction.

Springfield Township Police report on June 20, 2011 at 5:24 a.m. that the Harlee Manor Nursing Home in the 400 block of West Sproul Road notified the department that they suspected one of their employees had been involved in thefts from various tenants’ rooms. The thefts involved cash, credit cards and a cellular phone. Ptlm. Joseph Prendergast and Ptlm. Joseph O’Berg responded and when they interviewed the actor, some of the items reported stolen were found in his possession. He was also found to be in possession of suspected narcotics. Victims identified Christopher Martin, 26, of the 2300 block of Woodward Street, Philadelphia, as the actor who was in their rooms.
