Martindale's Supports Entrepreneurs and Cancer Fighters

This Springfield natural foods store offers support for locals fighting cancer and shelf space for start up businesses.

Martindale's Natural Market pioneered the health food store concept when it opened in 1869.  The store was family owned from the time it opened until it was sold to its current owner, Dale Reece, in 1991.  For nearly 150 years, Martindale's, with its motto of "Health First",  has been a vital part of the Springfield community. New Victoria's Secret Now Open at Springfield Mall

Victoria's Secret has moved to a new and improved location.

Victoria's Secret moved to its new home on the upper level of Springfield Mall, near Target on July 26. The newly remodeled store will be right next door to ULTA which is opening this fall.  The closest Victoria's Secret with the same design as this new store is in Hamilton, New Jersey, according to Maureen Weir, Senior Marketing Director for Springfield Mall.  Among the many new features of the store is a PINK boutique and a room exclusively for cosmetics and body products.  Customer Reactions  "This new store is such an improvement," said one shopper, Olivia. Five Guys is Growing Fast: 792%

Five Guys serves up competition in America's $40 billion burger industry.

  The Five Guys location in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center is among 1,039 stores in the US and Canada, according to Forbes. The 1991 Sproul Road location opened three years ago.  Five Guys, which is named after founder Jerry Murrell's five sons, has grown 792 percent since 2006 according to Technomic, a food industry research group based in Chicago.  Other Interesting Facts 20 percent of the company is owned by Miller Investment Management of Philadelphia.  The number of Five Guys stores has doubled since 2009, according to Forbes.
