HISTORIC MONTGOMERY CEMETERY SUMMER TOURS

Historic Montgomery Cemetery was the first public cemetery in Montgomery County and offered a park like atmosphere for Victorian families. There, families could relax and picnic while visiting the graves of their loved ones. Established in 1847, the cemetery is the final resting place of over 400 veterans including five Civil War Generals.

Tours begin with a PowerPoint presentation in the Aderman Gatehouse followed by a short tour of the cemetery. The tours will highlight stories of Montgomery County citizens from all walks of life. The Historic Montgomery Cemetery is owned and administered by the Historical Society of Montgomery County located at 1654 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA. For further information call 610-272-0297 or email contactus@hsmcpa.org. Follow the Historical Society on Facebook.
