Multiple Thefts Reported by Springfield Retailers

Read about three recent incidents of retail theft.

Two Philadelphia women were charged with Retail Theft for taking $189.97 worth of merchandise from the CVS Pharmacy in the 300 block of Baltimore Pike on July 25. 

After the alleged thefts, Springfield Police chased the women in a car and later found them walking in the area of Greenhill Road after they reportedly ditched their car.

The two were also charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Conspiracy, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, according to police.

Also on July 25, the Five Below Store in the 400 block of S. State Road reported that two women fled the store with a duffle bag full of merchandise and got into a car and fled to the back of the shopping complex.

A short time later, Marple Police reported stopping the car at Sproul Road and West Chester Pike and found the reported stolen merchandise, according to police.

Two Philadelphia women were charged with Retail Theft for taking $141.56 worth of merchandise from the store, Receiving Stolen Property, and Violations Of The Health & Safety Act.

On July 26, the Giant Food Store in the 700 block of W. Sproul Road reported that they had a woman in custody for Retail Theft at the store. A woman from Upland, Pa. was issued a citation for Retail Theft for taking $l.55 worth of merchandise from the store, according to police.
